On Saturday, the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, which has made New Orleans its home in recent years, along with Ashe Cultural Arts Center, held a community feeding at four locations across New Orleans to bring people together following the impacts of Hurricane Ida. The event fed about 300 people and coincided with Sekyiwa Shakur’s 46th birthday celebration.
“Just this one idea I had for my birthday, and all of the community has been supporting that. All of the organizations that have come together to make this happen for me. Again, New Orleans has shown me nothing but amazing love,” Shakur said.
Sekyiwa, Tupac’s younger sister, has been president of the TASF since Afeni’s passing in 2016.
